Aims & Scope

Brushing publishes written submissions of all traditional literary genres (poetry, fiction), as well as less-traditional forms that may not fit as neatly into those categories (erasures, screenplays, flash fiction, comics, etc.). Any type of visual aesthetic will be considered, from photography and sculpture to painting, drawing, and digital creations. We value ingenuity and welcome conventional or freeform submissions of all kinds.

Authors and artists of the Rollins College campus community (students, faculty, and staff) are encouraged to submit work that fit within the publication’s respective themes. Since all submission reviews are blind and judged without bias, we urge aspiring and experienced contributors alike to submit without reservation. The Brushing editorial team seeks content that is daring, but inclusive, and appropriate for mature audiences.
